We discovered a train would also take our bikes from Mt St Michel to the Loire Valley town of Tours, so we took advantage of this and instead of cycling up the valley we will now cycle down it. We arrived in Tours to a 32 deg day, "tres tres Chaud!" This preceded an almighty thunder and rain storm but only lasted for 20mins.i
Tours is a pleasant city and we took a tourist tour around the main sites. The old city is pretty much still intact. We will stay here for a day or so and have a good look around.
Today we made the 50km round trip to the town of Villandry which boasts a superb chateau and even more impressive gardens. Following are some pics of the Villandry Chateau and magnificent gardens.
